The tea infuser as shown in the down position lifts up and out of the way after brewing by lifting the knob which withdraws the infuser up into the black top clear of the water. It can be exchanged for a french press turning the tea pot into a coffee pot with ease. The glass insert can be removed for easy cleaning in the dishwasher. Its what one expects from the best of Danish design. A well made piece, easy to use and maintain, and elegant.
