Dolls and tea sets were two popular toys in Colonial America and the small tea sets imitated their parents sets varying only in the size. The handleless teacups in this set reflect the Chinese influences. Handles were optional in the 18th century and didn't become the norm until the 1800s. This adorable tea set is based on a porcelain tea set from the 1780s in the collection of Colonial Williamsburg. Nicely proportioned and with a nicely sized tray that displays the set to it best effect.
Teapot is 5 3/4 inches long by 4 inches high.
Cups are 2 inches in Diameter holging 1 ounce with a 3 1/2 inch saucer.
Cream is 3 1/8 inches high and sugard is 2 3/4 incesh high .

Name refers to the roses as well as the 4 English girls that make up part of the design.
Teapot holds 8 ounces the cups 2 ounces.

Teapot holds 8-10 ounces, enough tea to fill 4 tea cups. Approximately 6 inches long x 4.5 inches high
Tea Cup holds 2 ounces and is 2 inches high x 2.25 inches in diameter. The saucers are 4 1/4 inches in diameter
Cream is 2.75 inches high and the sugar is 3 inches high and 3 inches in diameter.
